FireWorks
2005
FireWorks
2005 was held at Gallery St. Thomas, opening on March 11.
Devin Toolan
Participating artists from St Thomas:
Alison Davis, Edney Freeman, Ketchi Salaz, Lynn Berry, Ruth Prager, Devin Toolan and Kimberley Young
Participating artists
from St John: Annie Caswell, Anna Foote, Jill Hale, Merryn MacDonald, Mandy Thody and Gail Van de Bogurt.
It was interesting to note the wide age range of the artists, covering three generations.
Works shown included terracotta heads and bisque figures, wall plaques, Raku animal sculptures, tea-pots, Japanese style sushi and saki sets, vases, nesting bowls, and much more, in a variety of clays from locally dug red to fine white porcelain. The glazes used were as varied and interesting as it is possible to find anywhere, contrasting well with the purity of the unglazed sculptural work presented by Mandy Thody and Ketchi Salaz.
